Will my health insurance cover Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is covered by most health insurance companies
- VHI, Quinn,
HSF and
Hibernian.
The Acupuncturist will give you a receipt that you can submit
to the insurance company.
As a fully qualified Acupuncturist with full professional
indemnity, public liability insurance and being a member of
a professional association you will be able to claim back
money from your treatment. However as there are many different
levels of cover with each health insurance company I advise
you to check with your individual plans terms and conditions.
Safety and hygiene in the clinic;
- Cathy Flynn is fully qualified and a member of a professional
association AFPA
- All Acupuncturists receive anatomy training and many
hours of clinical supervision in order to reduce the risk
of injury to the patient
- As needles are single use and sterile to eliminate
the risk of infection
- Acupuncture as a medical system carries little risk
- Ethics and code of conduct is important in the clinic
- Strict hygiene standards are enforced at all times
regarding hand hygiene, sterilisation of site of needle insertion
and disposal of needles
- The sterile needles are opened in front of the patient
as required ensuring hygiene
